Philippe GRANGE was born in Talence (Gironde) in 1957.
He stayed in JAPAN from January 1984 until April 1993.
He studied Japanese and Martial Arts, especially Aikido at Tokyo’s Aïkikai, headed by UESHIBA Kishomaru, son of the founder.

After several years of daily practice with masters such as YAMAGUCHI Sensei, ENDO Sensei etc, he obtained the grade of Fourth Dan in Aikido. In 1988, he met a peculiar expert in the world of modern Martial Arts, Master SU Dong-Chen, who was teaching Internal School Kung Fu. Seduced by this extraordinary character, Philippe GRANGE became his student and learned first Hsing Y Chuan, then Pakua Chang and finally Tai Chi Chuan


Master SU Dong-Chen’s teaching was a real revelation for him about body control (moves) and Martial Arts. He soon became, one of the favourite student of Master SU Dong-Chen He participated during three years at the Chinese Martial Arts tournaments in Tokyo, which were open to all styles and fighters, even non-chinese.

Thanks to Master SU Dong-Chen, he met and practised with Masters from continental China (HE Fu-Chen, HSU Wen-Zong…). Back in France, he dedicated himself to teaching Aikido and Internal Arts, In Gradignan and Bordeaux University. He runs numerous training courses in France and abroad.
